Education

In the fall of 1979 through the summer of 1981 Ted worked his way through the two year program at the Burnley School of commercial art & design. This school would later become the Art Institute of Seattle.

Between classes Ted continued his figure drawing and painting in the evenings and weekends in the student run workshops at the University of Washington.

Career

Ted began his freelance art career officially in the summer of 1981. He became a fulltime illustrator and advertising layout designer for the celebrated Seattle department store Frederick & Nelson.

In 1995 Ted’s freelance art and design business was revamped towards the emerging digital illustration market. He collaborated with Nathan Gopen of Diadem Productions to illustrate three multimedia teaching CDS from 1996-1998

From 1995-2008 Ted illustrated five books of the Bible- Exodus, Ezekiel, Daniel, Zechariah and Revelation. From 2000-2010 select works published in several editions of Peach Press’s book “Painter Wow!” volumes 6-11 by Cher Pendarvis.

From 2003-2005 designed and illustrated catalog cover and poster art for King County’s Charitable Campaign.

In 2014 Ted was a guest presenter at the 3rd annual Concordia University, Edmonton, Alberta Creative and Performing arts conference.
